The Museum’s Services
“Tourisme & Handicap”
In 2004, the Historial, Museum of the Great War was granted the ‘Tourisme & Handicap’ national stamp of approval, guaranteeing people with physical, learning or visual disabilities the best possible experience when visiting the museum.
The Historial in Péronne contributes to the development of tourism and leisure activities for the disabled with the aim of providing services to the widest possible audience.
A lift in the castle’s courtyard provides access to the museum; the exhibition is located on a single level with no steps and another lift can be used to visit the museum’s cafeteria and book and souvenir shop.
A tactile museum visitor map and a guide of the museum written in Braille are available upon request from staff at the reception desk, who can also provide information for people with learning difficulties.
On the first Sunday of every month, the guides of the Historial propose a ‘touch & see’ tactile visit of the museum’s galleries.

The “Café du musée”
The cafeteria is a warm and friendly area where food and drink can be enjoyed all year round. It can be accessed freely, without necessarily visiting the museum.
In the summer months, a terrace with views of the Cam pond makes the ideal place to enjoy the dish of the day, or snacks and drinks purchased from the cafeteria.
Visitors can choose from two seasonal menus or choose a set meal, which can be viewed here:
How to access the cafeteria:
> Through the main entrance of the museum (through the castle gates)
> Down a staircase on the left of the bridge to the main entrance of the castle, and by following a trail through the old moat to the Cam Pond.
Accepted methods of payment: Credit and Debit cards, cash, American express.
Adult Groups
The Café du Musée can also provide adult groups with a set menu. Please click here for more information
