Our Book and Gift Shops

Our shops offer a wide selection of literary, historical, artistic and military works on the First World War: personal accounts, correspondence, poems and novels by soldiers and their contemporaries, as well as works published or jointly published
by the Historial of the Great War and historians from the International Research Centre.

In Péronne, a selection of books is also available in English and German, and in Thiepval, the shop offers a wide range of books in English, French and Dutch.

Take home a souvenir of your visit! A wide range of objects relating to the First World War and our sites are also available, including posters, tourist maps, postcards, magazines, medals, textiles, pens and key rings.

An area especially

for young people

The shops showcase literature for children, with a wide selection of novels, comics and themed books.

A variety of activity books and games are also available on the theme of the Great War for a general audience: Trivial Pursuit – The Great War, Monopoly 14-18, Snakes and Ladders, Memory and many others. The shelves are packed with fun costumes and accessories: helmets, costumes, jewellery and medieval accessories in Péronne, a reminder that the museum is housed in a 13th-century castle.

A focus on

local crafts

Our shops boast a wide range of craft products including paintings, handmade jewellery, plaster busts, textiles and, in Péronne, gourmet delights from local producers and retailers.

In both our museums, the shops are open free of charge.

In Péronne, the shop can be accessed directly via the entrance at the rear of the building on the Etang du Cam side.

In Thiepval, it is located in the Visitor Centre, which is also accessible free of charge.
